Default Slowing Down 2006 PDS

Hi,
Trying to help the local Club. They have 5 x 2006 EZGO PDS carts + 5 2006 Precedent Club Cars that are ex fleet. I have fixed the Club Cars speed down to Code 1 (easy with the CC hand held device) but these EZGO's go like a cut cat - hence lots of damage by idiots running into trees/seats etc. We have already replace 5 FRONT AXLE WELDMENTS !. I have recommended that these be sold off - not suitable - however if I can slow them down to "Golf Speed" we may not go down this path. Any help to changing the controller speed settings would be appreciated. (the controller appears to not accept jumper changes)

Too fast isn't a complaint typically heard around here.

Place Run/Tow switch in Tow and then completely remove the plug from J2.

When the Run/Tow is returned to the Run position, the controller ought to be in the All Terrain (aka Golf) mode.

Placing controller in diagnostic mode will confirm the new setting. Should be just one beep.

Text at bottom of attached label tells how to put into diagnostic mode.

A simple controller upgrade would allow speed limit setting. Contact me for bulk pricing on 5 units.

Won't changing the plug JohnnyB mentions bring the top speed down to approx 13mph with regen?

It should. But be sure to cycle the tow/run switch after any changes are made (already covered, but dont forget).

Completely removing the plug from J2 like I suggested, drops the speed to about 13 MPH without regen braking, but you can install a plug with pin-2 jumpered to pin-3 (Steep Hill mode) and get about 13 MPH with regen barking.

Or if it has the freedom chip in it he could just cut one of the wires to make it Steep Hill mode or Mild Hill mode.

Never heard of a Golf course having freedom chips in their carts. Likely they are complaining about 12-14 mph being too fast.

He mentioned they had some 2006 Precedent Club Cars that were set to Code-1, so I suspect that is the speed he's looking for, whatever that is. (I'm not a CC guy, so I don't know. )

I have a switch on my PDS a 2P/3pos switch that allows me to select between the steep hill and wfo setting. With the flip of a switch. When switching there is a lapse of electrical signal as you pass the middle position. It allows total on the fly shifting. You do have to blip the throttle but stopping or slowing down are not necessary.
Mine was an old course cart. I think I could get all options using a rotary switch.
On the other hand ScottyB has something in the mail to me supposed to arrive tomorrow. Btw it is the first time I have seen USPS tracking say anything. Usually it just arrived and never shows status.
Probably won't get to put it on til Sunday though.
