Default EZGO Electric Cart with Intermittement Power Issues

I have an EZGO electric golf cart (1987) and it was working fine, batteries were old, so we replaced them all and also have replaced the solenoid, but now we are experiencing intermittent power loss. It is really slow to start up, then all of the sudden it will pick up speed and cruise at normal speed, if we have to stop the cycle starts all over again. Any ideas on how to fix this?

ok ... first check all wires and battery cables, give them a tug and a wiggle

this should be your diagram

Everything is tight, all connections have been checked, and actually all cables replaced We also replaced the solenoid. We were wondering if it could be something in the speed switch contact board, the connections on there look like they are pretty dirty one of them looks like maybe something go too hot there at one point as there are little bubble spots on it, kind of like solder if that makes sense. Is that something that should be replaced from time to time? And would it cause intermittent power loss?

Yes.....it could very well be your problem. Rusty or corroded wiring is the likely cause of your issue. If you have a zillion wires with corrosion and rust that is "seeping" under the end coating then it's time to replace that wire. Now, if you replace that wiring and your cart still has the problem....the obviously it's something else. But...you have eliminated something that may cause you a future issue, and needed upgrading anyway. But, it should be somewhat easier to find the issue.

And, if you don't have a Multimeter, you should buy one. They are not expensive....like $15 to $25 and are golden when trying to DX a cart problem.

usually its the board and contacts needs replacing, also the Wiper Contact

but first check the coils for breaks or burn spots

When installing the new switch board and wiper contact, is there supposed to be a gap between the switch board contacts and wiper?
