adjusting the brakes on an ezgo Marathon
As I put the cables back in the holers under the floor board I rolled the cart and they seem a little tight. Is it as easy as unhooking the pin and loosening the threads on the spring that attaches to the pedal or am I missing something?

Re: adjusting the brakes on an ezgo Marathon
The OEM Stock drum brakes on our carts operate the exact same way as the drum brakes on a car/truck is yesteryear. What you need to do is to properly adjust them. you can find the adjustment procedure within your operators manual. and if you don't have one, you can find it in the stickies section at the top of this section for you to download.

no your not blind......but you didn't know that the brakes are the same......and the adjustment procedure and how they are made are all they same. look at any of the TXT manuals, they will work for you.

Re: adjusting the brakes on an ezgo Marathon
A pair of vice grips on the lever at the back of the wheel/brake area (where the cable attaches) will serve as an adjuster lever. This adjustment is done without the cable clevis attached. Use the pliers to operate the lever back & forth until it no longer rachets or clicks when you move the pliers back-n-forth. Normal brake use should finish the adjusting as you use it after that. You will likely find that you need to adjust the equalizer at the brake pedal cable area after that to be able to hook the cables back up (usually a sign that others used that adjustment point to "fix" their previous brake problems).
