Speed (Re) Build

I have already started a minor rebuild on another cart... this one has a D&D speed / torque motor, 48volt conversion, hd rear springs, 6" Jakes spindle, yadda, yadda, yadda.

By minor rebuild - I am talking about:

Painted Body and Top
Headlights
Tail lights
Brake lights and turn signal
New Dash
Some lighting
Chrome accents
Tie the seperate 12 volt system into the key switch
Some minor cosmetic things like painting the top supports, etc...

I may replace the front springs to fix the lean.....

My question for you all -

Is there anything that you would like to see, any specific questions, any project that you would personally like to do to your cart - but would like to see someone else do it first?

Please let me know - I will take detailed pictures every step of the way...

I see you have an alltrax controller... How much more speed/power does the d&d motor add? is D&D the motor to have for top performance?

The combo of the Alltrax and the D&D did virtually nothing for speed over the PDS speed plug - about 21 mph with the tires. The motor is a combo - speed and torque. I'll tell you though - I was the mayor of torque town with that setup on 36 volts.

I went to 48 within 12 hours and never looked back!!!!!!!

Been following your posts....very informative for a rookie trying to make a first buy/rebuild...thanks for passing this journey along...looking forward for more insights into this build...

I'm about done with the 12volt stuff... I am in 100% slacker mode. I guess that's what happens when you work on your own stuff. Anyway - I started this morning and eneded up going to the shooting range for a few hours instead.

Anyway - here is what I did manage to get done today.

Re-wire the 2 hots and 1 neg to the stereo
Run the wiring to the 48 volt relay so I can use the key switch to activate the seperate 12volt accessory battery
Run the wiring for the lights, signals, and brakes
Mount the brake switch
Clean up some of the odds and ends - including re-spraying the deck of the rear seat and cleaning up the top uprights.
