Default charger plug issues

my 02 ez go txt is using a powerwise 2 charger.. the plug had the pull handle broke off... the charger was charging before i changed the plug and receptacle.. i removed one wire at a time,, to help in replacing them correctly..
now the charger is not charging...

on the new plug the pos. and neg. connector both have plastic insulator.. the old one did not have any on them.. the reed switch is on the pos. wire.. will the wire in the receptacle be on the pos. wire also..

any help with this.. with a wiring diagram.. or any other help... i would be very thankful..

Its the white insulator on the recptacle, on the side that has 2 terminals on the charger plug. The insulator can just be slipped off and all will be fine again.
