Default 2007 ez go TXT forward problems

I have a 2007 ezgo txt 36 volt. Forward is not working all the time I can get it to go forward after messing with it ( loosening and tighten the nuts on switch) a while but it jerks into forward. I can drive it a few miles park it then go back out and it will not move forward. Reverse works fine. Solenoid is clicking.

Shift with a lever under the seat? Yes? The F&R needs upgrading

All the amperage going from the battery pack to the motor goes through the F&R switch. The stock switch will not handle increased flow due to higher demands on the motor. Most HD F&Rs are barely better.

When you say higher demands on the motor you mean because of lift and large rims and tires?

Yes. Bigger tires, added weight, and hilly terrain or soft footing all make the motor work harder which causes it to draw more amperage and the higher amperage can cause the weaker parts to fail.

The upgraded switches are basically a larger set of copper bus bars in the cam. The factory bars are 1/16 thick. Copper being the awesome conductor it is, you can actually just add another set of stock 1/16 bars on top of the factory ones or replace them with a 1/8 thick set. I have been testing 1/8 thick replacement bars on factory switches for a while now on some carts in the field owned by friends. Now this is of course dependent on the factory one not being burnt up to start with. Condition of the contact bolts, springs and board will determine if you can upgrade or if you need to replace. It's comedic the price that I've seen some "HD" switches sold for online.

Take off the cover on the switch and you can see the contacts as you actuate the switch. If they look angled or you can see between them or they are burnt then you'll notice right away. Rusty springs are also a sign of overheating. Some of them melt the backing board if really bad. Take a peek and post a picture.
