Default Some more ?'s about 88/89 EZGO

I've thought of some more questions about my 88/89 EZGO electric cart. I've had this cart since June. Replaced all the battries in August. The place where I bought the batteries said they were made by Trojan, but I don't think they say Trojan anywhere on them, will look close the next time I'm at the shed. The cart has always seemed slow compared to all other carts that I've been golfing with, couldn't really tell the difference between old batteries and the new ones, except it ran forever on the new batteries. Hills always slowed it down a lot. I figured that was normal, but now I wonder. I understand the newer electric carts are faster, but I can't stay close to them, and a gas cart just leaves it panting in the smog. This cart is stock as far as I know, and I know nothing or very little about carts. I do wonder if my problem with the cart not moving now was coming on for awhile and I wasn't smart enough to understand it. If it's not, and I find the problem, is there and easy (cheap) fix to get more speed out of the cart? I can't tell you what kind of speed the cart puts out as I don't have access to gps stuff
to figure that out, and wouldn't know how anyway. Suggestions or comments? Thanks for your responses. I appreciate the time you take to read and respond to my rantings.

Was this posted after you got the new solenoid in? There are no cheap speed upgrades for controller carts.....You would have to buy a larger controller and get or make some heavier cables......It takes a little $ but it is worth it

Nah, I made this post before I went over and thawed out the cartshed door. The solenoid I put on the cart was different than the original, but the guy that I purchased it from said it would work. The old one had four posts, the new one had 4 posts. The one I took off was type 586-117111 White/Rogers RDM 36 volt, what I put one was for 1979-1994.5 ezgo. Old one one had terminals on top, new one had them on the side. Seems to work, but I won't know until I get a chance to run it around the course. Hope it warms up *** soon.
