Default Motor spins but no movement

I have a 1998 DCS the motor spins but cart does not move. I put new hubs (drums)no difference so I took rear end cover off & everything looks good, theres no grinding noises. The cart is on jack stands & when the go pedal is pressed about (1/4) I can stop the tire from spinning & something seems to be slipping. The motor is out and splines look good.

Can the motor be slipping?

no, motor is direct drive to a limited slip rear ... if one tire stops the other will drive .... axles are good ? both ?

Sorry Crash, a stock 1998 DCS has an open type differential rather than the limited slip type, so torque is sent to the side that has the least traction and with both tires off the ground, you can stop one of them with your hand.

----------
There are five sets of splines that could be stripped, both ends of each axle and motor to differential.

As Crash mentioned, it could be a broken axle.

In some differentials, the gear on the input shaft is press fit and the intermediate gears are press fit as well, so one of them could be slipping.

If the axles are okay, jack the cart up, drop the pan and set the parking brake.

Have someone press the pedal about 1/4 or so and look inside the differential with a flashlight. IIRC, you can see the input gear and intermediate gears from the bottom.

The motor doesn't have a bearing in front, so it has to be mounted on the differential to test it.
