Default Am I missing something?

Here's my scenario:
2001 TXT Series, HD solenoid, F/R Contactor, 4 ga cables, SPM48500, 48V Interstate BLEM's, DPI accusense. Standard Tires. Inflated to 30psi. Ran about 17mph. Upgraded to PQ Bandit yesterday. Nice packaging and finishing touches PQ! I've gained 3 MPH. Now at 20mph. Is this underwhelming or about expected? Also have a SOC meter and the battery pack seems to be behaving. Is there ANYTHING else I'm missing to gain speed? I plan on going to 20.7 inch street tires and disc brakes so I know that will increase a few mph as well. Any input appreciated.

well personally.....I would be underwhelmed.....as you can see in my SIG, I have the same drive system, and the same controller.....but I am still at 36V (that's my next thing, going to 48v) and although I have larger tires, and a different motor, I'm running 27 mph. when I make the jump to 48v....it will be closer to 34-36 mph.

SO one thing you can do is get larger tires. you can safely go up to 20" without a lift of any kind. if you are using your cart on the street only.....especially since you are at 48v, and your motor makes plenty of torque....you could change out the gearing to a 8:1 (stock is 12.4:1)....with will up your speed quite a bit.....not knowing the RPM that your motor spins at, or could spin at, assuming is can get to 4600 rpm, it would put you in the neighborhood of 30 mph....with the stock size tires. with the 20" closer to 34 mph

Seems slow. The cart in my sig will run a solid 22mph on the flats and gets there quickly.
Tires are 17.75" tall at 22psi.
The motor (D297) is considered a speed motor. I don't know where it stands in comparison to other "upgrade" motors but might be similar to the "Bandit". **
It's certainly not comparable to the "Raptor" motor in Nukes cart.
I assume you've checked for dragging brakes and such.
Upgraded motors usually require strong battery packs to achieve claimed performance. I would take a hard look at the batteries if it were me.

**I hope I haven't offended the boys at PQ

My tires are 17.5. And maybe there's increased drag since I had the cart lineXed. If the larger tires don't get me above 25 I'll look into the high speed rear gear. Any tutorials or suggestions on where to buy? Also are there maybe some things I could adjust in the controller? Last I checked everything was dialed all the way up. Brakes are not dragging, can push freely. Determined to get it above 25 so I can sneak around with traffic.

LineXed? You mean the bed liner stuff? I don't think paint/body drag is a factor at 20mph.

I hear ya on the 25mph. I think it's going to take a bigger motor to get me there.

The original post seems about right. Comparing this to different motors etc are comparing apples to oranges.

If you are getting 20.0 MPH on 17.5" tires, going to 20.7" tires will up the speed to 23.7 MPH mathematically, but will be a bit less in reality since taller tires take more torque to turn and the motor won't reach quite as high RPM with the same voltage applied.

Thanks for the replies. Looks like I will need the high speed gear. No hills here to contend with so no worries with torque. Where do I get the rear gear and how do I do it? All I've done in the rear gear so far was remove the cover and replace oil and new RTV seal.
