Default Marathon axle swap with TXT?

Just picked up a 1988 Marathon, no motor. Found a complete rear end (axle, motor) plus controller and all wiring from a 2000 TXT. Before I buy and try to make this conversion, does anyone have any experience with making a similar swap. Is it possible or am I just wasting more $?

Thanks

From early measurements, looks like Marathon axle is a few inches longer between spring mounts.

That's what I was going to say was going to the issue. If you're swapping the axle/diff/motor all together, that would be the key point. Do spring mounts line up? You could always move the mounts if you have fab skills.

Thanks. I only need a motor but the guy selling the motor had the entire rear end and all electrical. Now trying to figure out if motor will bolt right up. Motor is AYE64002. I called a few shops to check specs, but most are closed for holiday.

If the new motor stays with the new rear end, it shouldn't be a problem. Unless the new motor is a higher volt than the old.

I'm wanting to just bolt new motor to my current axle since 2000 axle is shorter than my 1988. Not sure if it is compatible, so waiting to hear back from the shops I called.

If the 2000 Motor is a series wound Motor and will bolt up it will work. If it is a shunt Motor it will not.
