Delta Q charger question
My dad has a Ruff and Tuff cart that is having some issues. The range of this cart is down to about 2 miles before the gauge is flashing red. The charger is a Delta Q Quiq 912-4800. Batteries are Crown CR190 6 8 volts that are less than 6 months old. I know these are smaller batteries than what came on it but it should go farther than that. Could the problem be the charging algorithm? The charger is not showing any faults and everything else is working fine. Thank you for your help.

Re: Delta Q charger question
Take some before charging and after charging battery pack voltages, after the charger kicks off it set for 12 hours and report the overall pack voltage. If it is not upward of 50.9 then you got problems.

Re: Delta Q charger question
Ok. I'm going back down there this weekend and I will test it and post the results. Thank you.

Re: Delta Q charger question
I just had mine reprogrammed and did a bunch of research.. There's not much out there on the Delta-Q Quiq Chargers. I've attached two files that list different algorithms.
Hope this helps! |

Re: Delta Q charger question
Those are great, i already had the second one, but not the first one with all the graphs.

Re: Delta Q charger question
Thank you. I am going to check which algorithm it is set to and find out which ones are loaded into it. I had found a pdf on here that was the manual for the 912-4800. I'll have to see if I can find it again.

Re: Delta Q charger question
What are the chances that the Dash gauge is malfunctioning swing it is discharged when it is not? I guess I can rule that out pretty quick with some driving and a multimeter.

Re: Delta Q charger question
50.6 volts fully charged and disconnected for 12 hours
48.6 volts when gauge showing 50% 48.4 volts gauge flashing red Do I need to do anything besides replace the gauge with a voltage gauge. |

Re: Delta Q charger question
Looks like the meter is correct. 48.4 would be 50% depleted and the point at which the batteries should be recharged.

Re: Delta Q charger question
Thanks Scottyb. My dad is convinced he has a problem. It looks like they should have put bigger batteries on it.
