EZGO year and model?
Hello all, I am going to probably pick this cart up tomorrow. Wondering if someone can help me with the year and model? I have done some research and thinking that it is a 94.5-95 series (maybe txt but unsure). Anything to pay attention to when looking and driving it other than frame condition and noises when driving. What are your thoughts on the price and condition from the add. It comes with a charger as well. Thanks in advance I appreciate your help..:thumb:

Re: EZGO year and model?
Looks to be a Medalist (metal body). Appears to have a factory rear seat which could mean this cart was never part of a golf course fleet. This could also mean slightly upgraded electronics compared to a stock golf cart. A possibility anyway. The cost of batteries in your area plus the purchase price is the real cost of the cart.
Post pictures of the back of the cart and under the seat if you get it please. |

The "if its worth it" ... all depends what the plan is for the cart. |

Re: EZGO year and model?
I thank you for the replies, I really need the inputs and thoughts. I plan to make it a project that give me something to do. Maybe lift and the necessary additions to make it work good. Mostly will be for street use for the family. Seems like a good price for this area though. Is this model of cart a pretty good one for the price or should I keep looking?

Re: EZGO year and model?
That's even a good price for my area (NY). For some reason, these carts bring a large premium up here
I have been looking for a Medalist for a little while. I think that for what you'd be using it for, it will work. Will more than likely need to upgrade drive system though, as you are looking to lift it |

Re: EZGO year and model?
Definitely a series cart. Simple and reliable. I think you are about right on the year but could be newer. 1996 started TXT (plastic body) production but they were concurrent with Medalist production for awhile. TXT bodies are interchangeable. The motor data plate is still in place in the drivers side cubby. Look in the passenger side cubby for another data plate. Plug the serial no. into here: https://shop.ezgo.com/customer-servi...ialNumber.html to see what it was when it left the factory.
On more study, that is a factory rear seat and foot rest. The rear seat should be hinged at the back and fold over (seat back and all) to reveal an enclosed bagwell. Gives you a "trunk" if you will. Likely this cart when new came with: lights, possibly including brake lights, long roof, horn, windshield, mirror, rear seat with foot rest and grab bar and heavy duty rear springs. Some years had an upgraded motor, speed control and solenoid. This cart does not appear to be one of them. IMO this would be a good cart to tinker with. Since battery replacement is likely might be a good time to think about 48v. Would require a change of speed control, solenoid and charger at least. Weak area is the F/R switch. Especially one this old. It can be beefed up or replaced with a reversing contactor. The cart below is a 2000 version of that cart. |
