Default RXV Cart Trouble

I have 2010 RXV Ezgo that quit on me. I'm pretty sure I know the issue but wanted to get other opinions before ordering the part.

My thoughts:

I think it's the motor brake. Batteries were fully charged (4 Trojin around 2 yrs old) and about 10 min into my ride it kind of locked up on me like I applied the brakes. Now It will only creep forward and backwards with the gas peddle pinned on the floor board.

Any thoughts on this issue or advice?

It does sound like the brake is locked up. Don't force the issue!

On flat ground. Put the key on off, flip the run/tow to tow, turn the key to N and see if it will roll. If not chances are you have a bad brake. To confirm that disconnect the 2 wire plug from the brake and remove the 3 10mm bolts to take the brake off. If it rolls then, bad brake.

KG I bought a new motor brake and that is not my issue. The cart will freely roll in tow and key in neutral. It would do that before I replaced the motor brake. I did not see your reply until after I purchased the new motor break. The motor break will not engage when releasing the go peddle. I loaded it on a trailer yesterday and when I released the go peddel it rolled off the trailer.

I'm at a dead end on what the issue might be. This is my first cart and I don't have a clue on how to troubleshoot other items. I do have buddies with electronic experience and test equipment. Could it possible be a bad solenoid?

If the cart will "try to move", the solenoid is working fine.

We just had one similar. Turned out to be encoder bearing. Hope this helps.

Guys --
Need more info than this--- this is just WAG-ing

1) do you have a "gas" gauge on this cart?
2) did you smell a burning/hot smell when cart slammed to a stop?
3) Batts--- What brand/model/age?
4) Can you get to repair shop with handheld to check for codes?

The described symptoms could be brake or batts or sensor or.........
Lets narrow this down before throwing parts at it.

1) No gauge.
2) No burning or hot smell. Cart was running fine and gave no indication it had issues. It came to a stop all of a sudden and will only creep now. When in tow and key in neutral rolls freely.
3) They are Trojan around 3 year old. My buddy has cart so I'll have to get the model of batteries. He has load tested and checked battery voltage.
4) I do have the option to take it to a repair shop.

My buddy thinks it's the speed sensor but he's not sure of its location.
