how fast will the xct500pds with the solenoid and cable make my cart? I'm not sure if I want to change the motor yet. by the way I do have the back seat on my cart

I just intalled the xct500pds, solenoid and 2 awg cables. I'm at 24 mph on a full charge on flat ground with a tail wind. 22" tires and stock motor and torque. Time for seat belts for the kids! lmao

It does well on hill, I'm in Florida so nothing major but does good. About 20 mph up hills.

Get 17% additional speed and power can be had by adding the 7th 6v battery under the driver's seat and get a 42v charger here > http://www.cartsunlimited.net/battery-chargers.html

Use the 500a XCT for any aftermarket motor
or use the 400XCT and add the fan kit for aftermarket motors.

That is a bit on the slow side.

XCT with Stock PDS motor at 36V on stock (18") tires is about 24 MPH, same setup with 22" ought to be about 29 MPH.

Also, with 22" tires, you've lost about 18% of the torque the motor is putting out when rubber meets road.

The stock PDS controller limits the motor to about 4400 RPM, which is about 19 MPH on 18" tires.
With that RPM limit removed, a stock PDS motor will spin at about 5600 RPM at 36V, with is about 24 MPH on 18" tires.

Upping the pack voltage to 42V will up the RPM of a stock PDS motor to about 6500 RPM, which is about 28 MPH on 18" tires. In addition to a greater speed, 42V will also give you a torque increase of 16.7% throughout the RPM spectrum, so the cart won't slow as much on hills as it did on 36V.

Upping the pack voltage to 48V will up the RPM of a stock PDS motor to about 7500 RPM, which is about 32 MPH on 18" tires. That is probably spinning the motor faster than it is designed for, but with an XCT you can limit the motor's RPM to something safer and still have the a 33% increase in torque throughout the available RPM spectrum, so the cart would slow even less on hills.

--------
If the tire height is increased, the top speed will increase, but taller tires take more torque to turn, so the motor won't reach as high of a RPM for the same applied voltage and will slow more on hills.
