LED light replacement
I have an EZGO txt with light kit front and back...
I was thinking to replace the light bulbs with LED lights. Took off the rear light cover and the bulb is a: 2057 12v 32/2cp Did a little search on the forum and was not able to figure out a LED replacement bulb that would work. Someone tried I believe an 1157 type LED replacement and had issues. Skip Sent from my Nexus 6 using Tapatalk |

I purchased some 1157 led bulbs today and put them in for rear lights.
They did not work. Any ideas on what I can try or what the problem is? I put a Volt meter to the contact points in the socket and getting voltage. Thx for help Skip Sent from my Nexus 6 using Tapatalk |

Re: LED light replacement
I changed mine out to red led's with clear covers. I'll look tomorrow and see what number is on them.

I think i found the issue, just not sure how to fix.
Just ran a test... With the led: I ran positive wire from battery to bottom tip of led, with Battery negative to the led outer case and led works. Where the light bulb goes into the socket on my rear lights, using Volt meter, I can only get voltage if you touch voltage probe to the inner 2 connection points inside the socket. You don't get voltage if you ground to the socket case which looks like is needed to get led to work. I did find the rear lights assembly has another black wire that looks to be grounded to the inside light assembly...this wire is not currently being used. I am thinking if I connect my battery ground wire to this other wire that looks ground inside assembly, that will bring ground to the socket case? What do you think? Could I possibly short out my battery or damage it trying this? Thx Skip Sent from my Nexus 6 using Tapatalk |
