Default EZGO TXT jumps to full power and then stops....HELP!

I'm hoping someone can help..... when pushing the accelerator pedal to my 36volt TXT the cart jumps to full speed and then will stop. I've checked the motor, works fine with a low speed direct connection to a single 6 volt battery. I've Replaced the induction coil in the accelerator box and all is correctly adjusted , the micro switch in the box is working correctly and the solenoid is also functioning correctly. After going through all of this and not resolving the issue I was able to get a core exchange on the Curtis controller figuring it was a controller issue... well it didn’t fix the problem. Does anyone have any ideas, I'm stumped...........

Thanks

Welcome to bgw.
What is the history of the problem? Any chance this problem started after somebody swapped a couple of controller cables around?

It just started happening, no change that I can think of to trigger the problem.

If the induction coil and micro switch are testing good the easy conclusion is a controller failure but, I have to admit, I've never seen this type of full throttle control failure.... logically it seems like a throttle signal problem.
Perhaps you can ohm out the signal wires from the ITS to the control and make certain they are not shorted. There is a 4 gang plug between the pedal box and the control in the gray wire which can be a source of trouble.

Its seems like a logical explanation, I was not aware there was a plug between the accelerator box and the controler, I only checked those wires for continuity. Really appreciate the help, I'll let you know what happens.

Thank you.

Update: Scottyb you're suggestion was correct the grey Deutsch Connector had some moisture and corrosion inside creating a short. So much for waterproof connectors. Thanks again

Yeah, that's a notorious trouble spot. I'm glad it was so easy to solve.

I'm going to hijack my own post, I suppose that's allowed, scottyb judging by the number of posts you've made it would you seem you know a bit about carts. What do you know about Star Ev, are they any good? Thinking about getting their classic 48 street legal and selling my older TXT.

Hey Johnnie, Follow up from your previous convo. Would the connector you are talking about be near the micro switch under the floor mat or more near the controller?

thanks!

This thread is 8 years old but the connection in question is only on series carts and is in the grey cable coming from the pedal box to the controller.
