New member needing some assistance!
I have a 1996 36v ezgo txt. It is in poor shape and i am trying to repair it myself. Before touching the cart i repaired my powerwise charger then charged up my batteries. When i press on the accelerator all that happens is a click that seems to come from the solenoid/controller. I have replaced the forward/reverse switch in the past and was wondering if it could be anything other than the solenoid or controller. Im still new to golf carts so i cant really go into greater detail about my cart. Any help would be much appreciated.

Re: New member needing some assistance!
Jack, the fact that the solenoid "clicks" (activates) is a good thing. There are two separate circuits in your cart, the activation circuit, which the solenoid is part of, and High Current circuit (large cables). Seeing as how the activation is working your problem is in the High Current circuit. You need to find out where you have a "leak". meaning you have a lose connection somewhere.
BTW........Welcome to our happy little corner of the net, and to BGW. There is a BIG fridge on the back porch with anything you can think of in it...help yourself...of course only take what you can LEGALLY have. Make yourself at home on one of the big fluffy couches, kick your shoes off, put your feet up on one of the tables, yes we are allowed to do that, mom's, wives’, husbands, girlfriend’s and boyfriends here don't care....and take it easy. oh...btw....every once in a while a food fight breaks out...so you may not want to wear nice clothes here. Welcome!! |

Re: New member needing some assistance!
There were two types of drive systems used in 1996 TXT carts, Series drive and DCS.
If there is a Run/Tow switch on the controller cover, it is a DCS. Attached are schematics for both with the high current circuits highlighted. |
