Golf cart Speedometer
Has anybody figured out a way to use a speedometer? Seems like it wouldn't be too hard as long as you program your wheel diameter. I wasn't sure if anyone has used a motorcycle speedometer or something similar.
Oh I just looked and saw they make them for golf carts. |

Several people have used bike speedometers that are based on a magnetic pulse sensor.

Cheapest way is a bike speedometer. (as long as it can be programmed for the much smaller wheel diameter). GPS speedometers work also. You also can get an app for your phone that works very well. I built my own speedometer using an Arduino board and an optical coupler hooked to the speed sensor in my cart. (not an easy way to go but fun for me to fool with) The only trick with a bike speedometer is mounting the magnetic sensor and magnet on one of the wheels.

That is basically a bike speedometer. You can get one for less than 1/5 the cost of that one from any bike shop.

i just use my iphone app i got its just called speedometer has avg. speed, altitude,distance and max speed its pretty accurate too and it has audio controls
