Slow Speed
I have a 2004 E/EZ-GO w/PDS system Stock through-out. I have 6 T-105 Trojan Batteries that I have fully charged, chkd 6.4v on each total 38.4v to controller. I am experiencing loss of power after only 5-7 minutes of operation, and will get a 2-1 code (low battery). I did a load test on the batteries individually disconnected, and checked OK. I have 4 gauge cables installed, w/all terminations clean as new. I did a test per the directions and got a 4 code, checked 3 times.

Re: Slow Speed
Are the motor, controller, or solenoid getting hot?

Re: Slow Speed
2 - 1 is battery voltage, but isn't always so. The only way to TRUELY test your batteries is on a discharge machine. At 2004, I'll bet you have a set of bad batteries - possibly a set that has gone dry a few times in their lifetime...

Re: Slow Speed
Would a hydrometer test show the weakness or the bad cell(s)?

Re: Slow Speed
My understanding is a hydrometer shows the ABILITY of the cell to ACCEPT a charge.

Re: Slow Speed
I ran the cart last night late, and as I went up the street, approx 4% grade, the lights became very dim, loss of power, approx 32 degress outside, and getting a 2-1 code (low battery) code. This was on a fully charged set of batteries. Appears I may have to pull batteries out and have them tested professionally.

Re: Slow Speed
I failed to mention that I also checked the motor, controler, & solenoid, did not feel abnormal barely warm.

One or more batteries will wreak havok on the system. It sounds like either you have at least 1 bad battery or the pack has seen it's useful life. Since you obviously can't check your batteries you can't go wrong taking the batteries to someone who can......unless they need to make a sale. Good luck! |
