Controller issue 96 series
I just send out my controller to be tested and repaired. So now I have a in good working tested controller that Im told is wrong one for my cart. The cart never ran since I got it. I have bought all new everything and never had anything but a click. It's a 3 terminal 5 pin controller and I need a 4 terminal 5 pin one. Anyone else care to trade or point me in the right direction on finding one. Maybe a part number. Thanks

Re: Controller issue 96 series
If your cart had a 4 terminal controller with A2, it will work with a 3 terminal 5 pin controller with out the A2 terminal. You just need to bypass the A2 terminal on the controller
Here's some info in this post, with a diagram http://www.buggiesgonewild.com/elect...tml#post924999 |

Re: Controller issue 96 series
Whoever is advising you is not very cart savoy. Do as RIB says simply bypass the missing A2 on the control so the cable goes from motor A2 to F&R.
Good luck with the repaired control. |

Re: Controller issue 96 series
Do either of you who responded have a diagram for the 4 terminal controller, because I think it was set up for the 3 and would be missing a cable or wire somewhere. Thanks again

Re: Controller issue 96 series
To bypass you said just connect the A2 to motor. It already goes to the motor. Motor to f/r only.

Re: Controller issue 96 series
Ok, I figured it out. Basically it's removing 1 cable. Unfortunately still just clicks.

Re: Controller issue 96 series
If the solenoid is clicking, you have a high current issue.
You have a 96 Series drive, but you said it had a 5 pin plug. Perhaps it is a 6 pin plug with only four wires going to it. (Curtis 1206 controller) If so, attached is a schematic for it (No A2 terminal) with the high current cables highlighted. Connect you DVM between the B- and M- terminals on controller and press pedal just far enough to get solenoid to click and you should read full battery pack voltage. If not, start tracing the red highlighted cables with the + test lead until you find the voltage. |
