2007 TXT PDS no go
Hi I'm helping a friend who's cart sat for almost a year. Naturally it worked fine when parked. He went to charge it and nothing happened. I charged two at a time and got the voltage up enough to get the charger to top them off. The pack now has about 38.2 volts. When I turn the key, nothing happens. The reverse buzzer doesn't even come on.
Where should I start? |

Check for full battery pack voltage (38.2V) on J1 Pins 4 & 5.
If either of those two voltages is missing or too low, everything is dead. |

Yep both have no voltage plugged in and key on. Controller?

Re: 2007 TXT PDS no go
The controller will not power up without voltage on those two pins, so it is premature to even think controller.
It is Odd that both pins have no voltage, are you sure you measured the correct pins? The pin numbers are upside down and backwards. Pins 1 through 5 are the bottom row, right to left. |

Ok, I did the two all the way to the right on top with it plugged in to the controller. I probed with a paper clip where the wire clips into the plug. So I should be probing the two on the bottom left? Key on or off? Plugged into controller or unplugged?

The pins are # here.
There should be power at each end of every red line on this diagram. Check every point starting with the source (battery main + fuse connection on your cart) |

Attached is a closeup of the J1 jack. The pin numbers are labeled, but it is next to impossible to see the labeling when the controller is installed in the cart and the cables are plugged in. In addition, the jack is mounted so the locking tab is on top, which makes the pin numbering sequence upside down and backwards to what many people suspect it is. Pin-5 is live 100% of the time and Pin-4 is live except when the charger is plugged into cart, so it doesn't matter if key is on or off. However, as a general rule of thumb for voltage measurements during troubleshooting, all switches and controls are to be set like they would be set to drive the cart. FWIW: I have used paperclips when I didn't have test probes with thin enough tips. |

Ok, #5 has full pack voltage, #4 has none. Scotty don't laugh, I couldn't find a fuse anywhere on this thing.

If there is none, bypass the reed switch. See attached picture. |
