Rocker switch mounting plate ??
Greetings! I am not certain where I can find plastic stock to make a mounting plate for an install of a set of 4 rocker switches. I plan to purchase the snap in bracket to hold the switches but want to then put the brakcets inside a mounting plate which can easily be unscrewed and pulled out of the cart dash. This would be in case I wanted to wire up a new accessory controlled by one of the switches. I was told by the distributor that the snap in brackets are difficult to pull from the dash if mounted directly.
So....where can I find black hard plastic that I can cut to size myself that would work well ? I have not seen anything like this and I am certain some on here have done this type of fabricating often. I prefer plastic over metal so I can cut it to size with the tools I currently have. Ideas ? thanks ! |

Whatever you find, it's thickness is crucial to the "snap in" part of the bezel you have. You need to determine what thickness the bezel wants to hold on to. Too thin and it will snap in ok, but still be loose as heck.

I don't know if this plastic would work but I have ordered brass from this company and got good service.

Thanks usgicollector - just checked them out, so what type of plastic should I be looking for ? There are so many options, I am not certain which would work the best for this application ? ABS Plastic Sheet ? Acrylic Plexiglass ?

Re: Rocker switch mounting plate ??
I have used the BLACK KYDEX T PLASTIC SHEET in the past. It worked very well for me. But as it was stated before find what thickness you need. You can put a heat gun to this stuff and make it soft but watch how much heat you give it.
