1994 ezgo cuts out while driving

The cart drives fine but every now and then the power cuts out. As soon as I let my foot off the pedal and press down again it goes. Any ideas are appreciated. The battery's are good and fully charged.

I was about to post about having the exact same problem!

Running along fine, suddenly no power, let off accelerator, push down again, and it goes. Has been happening more and more, today was first time it did this in reverse....1992 ezgo marathon, batteries ok.

I had a 94 too how old are the controllers?

Pretty sure mine is stock 1992 marathon...

probably time for an upgrade fellas had to do it on my ol marathon when i got it check out carts unlimited scottyb will fix you up !!!

My friend that is what I'm saying your controllers are probably more than likely bad because that is one of the tale tale signssigns of a bad controller trust me I went through my whole electrical system doing this to find out it was a controller same symptoms you had now Does that help you? And for further reference please have a little respect for the people on here I wasn't trying to send you to go buy a brand-new controller I was telling you what was wrong with your golf cart just trying to save you a little bit of time and a lot of money But if you don't like my answer go ahead and do it the hard way.

Well thanks, you just forgot to say it's a symptom of a bad controller, so I couldn't "mind read" what you meant by "time for an upgrade".

I took it to mean time to get a newer cart instead of messing around with an old one.

Not a lack of respect, I'm just not a mind reader and took what you said wrong. OK?

I got what he said. But that's the problem with the internet...unless it's spelled out something will always be missed by someone.

Read it again i hilighted where it states that ...your good man just be cool man these guys will take offense. if you have a 1992 cart and it still has the original controller even a rebuilt one is probably going bad is it a series cart?? If so check the forward and reverse switch contacts does wear out and can be dangerous this is my fourth Cart I have Built l I know my way around them pretty well but seriously I have spent the money I have been there I have done that......
