Ebay batteries?
My wife and I just bought what we think is a 1985 EZGO 3 wheeled electric cart for $200. We were told 3 of the batteries are a year old and the others are older and need replaced. Would it be a bad idea to mix new batteries with year-old ones? I searched "golf cart battery" on ebay and came up with these
Apparently I cant post a link, but they are mighty max 12v 35 amp hour batteries Has anyone used these? I was thinking of buying 6 and running them in series/parallel. That way I can replace ALL the batteries instead of half of them |

It is not a good idea to mix old and new batteries. You will find that the new ones become like the old ones rather quickly.

Re: Ebay batteries?
I am surprised that you can get a deal off ebay? I would think shipping would kill the deal!
I just looked. They look like half size. There 7"x5"x7" and only weigh 23 pounds or something each? |

Re: Ebay batteries?
35ah batteries are gonna be terrible. So under rated for the job, the battery might pop under the load of full throttle operation, from a dead stop, amp loads will easily exceed 350 amps. Most any battery is gonna be unhappy at discharge above 10c (10x its rated capacity, 35ah).

Connecting batteries in parallel increases storage capacity, but the voltage stays the same. Attached is a chart from Trojan Battery company that illustrates the concept. The six 6V 20AH batteries in your cart yields a 36V battery pack with a 20AH storage capacity. Six 12V 35AH batteries connected is series/parallel will yield a 36V 70AH battery pack. The standard battery pack for a 36V golf cart is made up from six 6V 225AH batteries connected in series for a 36V 225AH battery pack. |

Re: Ebay batteries?
35 AH batteries are almost useless for a golf cart. You are wasting your $$ with that deal.

Re: Ebay batteries?
Those are like the size of atv batteries or an accessory battery for something...or maybe a small lawnmower.
