Default Battery voltage question

So I have a 36v cart, 6-6v batteries. Everything I am reading states after a full charge and sitting they should read around 6.3v each. All of mine read about 6.9 with 1 of them at 7v. Do I have a battery problem or am I good? Thanks.

No you do not. Make sure they are watered (distilled ONLY). I guess you have a DVM. Check them weekly to be sure.

Thanks, I know to only use distilled water. They are topped off, I'm charging them up now and gonna check the voltage again in the morning.

Check battery voltage AFTER the charger has turned itself off and your cart has set for nearest to 8 to 12 hours without use for the surface charge to dissipate and then take the voltage readings....

Well then either you have a bank of super batteries or you may have an inaccurate multi-meter as it seems odd that you have 6.9 to 7.0 volts per battery after a 8 to 12 hour off charger rest period when you really should no have more than 6.37 or 2.122 to 6.4 or 2.133 per cell....

I would guess the batteries in the cart are fine, but the 9v battery in the DVM is on its way out, hey at least thats a cheap fix. My meter reads way high when the battery is done.
