I would go with Alltrax. Most motors are not going to like 700 Amps. I would go with the 500 amp Alltrax.

Great Controller !!! I have had one since 08 with no problems at all and it is truly plug and play . I have played around with the adjustments and found that the stock setting work the best . I suggest going to 2ga cable when you install it . I had 4 ga and it tended to heat up the S1 stud of the stock motor. About 3yrs or so ago I ended up replacing the motor with a PQ Rattlesnake II.

Here is a complete PDF of the controller

As far as i know, it (GE 700a) is not available in a form natively compatible with ITS (ezgo TXT). Requires an adapter box. This "box" has been the source of many frustrations for me over the years. If things have changed, let me know (ScottyB). Otherwise, never had much trouble at all with that controller. If i were making a 0-5k throttle cart, i would have zero reservations saying it would be a great controller option.

It is by far the most amps for least expense. The FSIP GE control enjoys a very good reputation for running high output high torque motors like D&D. The Throttle conversion box is included in the Ezgo price ( on our website) We have not had the trouble GCtech refers to this last 1.5 years, so possibly this unit has been re engineered? There are aftermarket 3 options for this cart but none come close to the 700a capacity. So if too big tires, too deep mud, and too much torque is what you are after ... look no further. We have sold hundreds of these controls in our CC conversion kit over the years.

I have that controller. I it got from Scotty. You can see my set up in my signature. I am very pleased with it. Loads of torque paired with the D&D torque motor. Still runs about 18 mph on flat pavement with tires aired up tight. It will definitely loose traction before stalling.

@Volt_Ampere;
What kind of advise is this — I'm calling you out on this comment! I don't usually call someone out but when another member asks for advice and I see false opinions thrown around I pipe up. Your "opinion" is unwarranted.

@Paintdude;
FACT: The FSIP 700 controller in question lets you turn down the Amps to whatever you are comfortable with if 700 is too much. The controller has adjustments to limit the amperage as well as throttle ramping to make it SAFE FOR ALL SERIES MOTORS.

FACT: The FSIP controller is also one of the best & user-friendly controllers out there and has a reliable track record across multiple platforms - not just golf carts.

MY EXPERIENCE: I've been running this exact controller on my cart for years now with my stock 36v motor. Last year I upgraded the cart to 48v and all I had to do was add two more batteries because this controller handles both 36v & 48v right out of the box! I'm still running the stock motor on 48v until I can afford the Rattlesnake II <shaking fist in jealousy at Swan>. I've never had one hitch with this controller. I do not like mud, I prefer to run trails or through the woods and climb obstacles. I have 22" tires and over 600lbs of just batteries and this controller handles it with ease. It has never been too hot to hold my hand on.

MY OPINION: I am a huge fan of this FSIP controller due to its ease of installation, ease of adjustment, bulletproof design and the ability to work on 36v & 48v making it ideal for anyone on 36v now who plan to upgrade in the future (or leave it at 36v). I love it and if I had it to do all over again I would get the same one. I got the exact ScottyB package you were asking about and I love it. You cant go wrong. Make the jump and like Swan already said, get the 2GA cables! Also I wish they had the reversing contactor available back when I bought y conversion kit - highly recommend it over the HD F/R switch if you are going to be running large tires.

@cgtech;
I modified the location of the throttle box in the kit to eliminate the throttle arm adapter. Feel free to troll my build thread to see if it would work for you also. We have different carts, but it might spark an idea or two for you. Something that the adapter does well is get the throttle box up high & dry - they don't work wet - which is fine in the terrain I drive in.
