Default RXV Trojan to US Battery swap

Hello all,

Great site, I have found lots of useful info here. I have a 2008 Ezgo RXV electric that I'm changing the batteries on this weekend from Trojan T-1275's to US Battery US 12V XC. I was wondering if anyone has done this swap and whether the Trojan battery filling system will fit on the US 12V XC.

Thanks

BigD

the trojans may be 2.3 on center and the US 2.5 on center. You can get parts here...http://www.powrparts.com/flow-ritegolfcartwatering.aspx you may need to chande the manifold.

Thanks for the reply Hecky,

I'm more concerned with the hole diameter and depth to cell as the filler/caps are attached by clear tubing and the centers can move.

Who is the manufacturer of your system. Doesn't sound like a Hydro-link.

Hold on......

Battery watering systems are designed to last the life of ONE set of batts.

Re using them increases the chance of failure (stuck floats-- ruined batts) GREATLY..

The reason to use watering systems is to ease maint of batts.....
Needing to remove caps to confirm proper fill negates purpose of filler system.

I recommend new system for those batts..... Batts too expensive to chance it.

Also, US Batteries have a different charging profile than Trojan so which charger do you have ?

So you can't charge Trojans on same charger as US Bat or interstate or walmart batteries??? Or is just that Trojans require a special charger and all others same?

No for some reason (?) US Batteries don't have the same charge profile as most all other batteries... They tend to be undercharged if charged in the basic universal charge algorithm used by most all other batteries/chargers...

For reason such as this is another reason why DPI chargers are so well liked as you can change the charging algorithm on them by simply move a couple dips/jumpers around...
