Default Wife makes fun of my cart.

I have a series motors and have put a lot of time and money in the cart. I will admit that the cart is slow for on road use. (About 18 on the flat.) My wife agrees and constantly reminds me that her cart at work is a lot faster. She as an AC motor in hers. If I want more speed should I just sell my cart and start over? It seems that I will never get where I need to be to avoid the ridicule.

Any way to convert the cart to a faster setup? By that I mean change out the controller, motor and FR to "upgrade" from a series? Is the series motor old technology? I looked at new motors but it seems that for $600 I still wont get a whole lot more. Maybe a few MPH. Really I am not sure of the benefits of the different carts. Can some one inform me of the pros and cons of the series and sepex varieties?

Yes, at a minimum. We ride on the roads a lot and it would be nice to go a little faster since we are sharing the roads with cars. The way people pass you is dangerous.

Timmy.....obviously you are still running the stock motor...correct? seeing as you are running basically the same set-up as me....other than the motor.....I have a high speed motor, AND I am still at 36v.....and can and do run 27 mph all day.....is I were to bump up to 48v, which I am at my next battery replacement, it will bump my speed into the 33-35 mph range.

Yessir stock motor. It is clean though.

I saw your info during my research. You have the AMD 7126, correct? I saw also that you got it at ECC. I looked at their website and saw it was $600. I believe that they get the motors from Nivell who I think gets them from Luna who has AMD build them...I think. I am going to give them a call on Monday to see if my theory is correct.

I asked the Mrs yesterday if I could get a new motor and she said "No". Then I this morning and she said maybe over winter. I waited a few more hours and asked again and she said "Yes". Working her. Ha. I did do all the chores that she wanted, I think that helped.

So how is the torque on that motor Nuke? Do you die on hills or what? It claims to be a torque and speed motor but I thought that was impossible.

YES, I have an AMD 7126 Raptor Motor.

well considering your cart is 48v, you will have more torque AND speed than me as I am still running 36v. as far as dieing on hills? NO, but that is because I don't deal with hills as its flat as a board here. the only hill I ever deal with is a levy I climb when I go fishing, its STEAP, like a 30 Deg angle, but then its only about 30 foot long to the top. but I have no problem getting to the top. and it doesn't take a long time for me to "top out" speed wise.....and from a dead stop it has plenty of get up and go for me. of course I am not comparing it to my Vette either! LOL
