ezgo cutting out to dead
I have a 36v '06 EZGO PDS. Purchased 3 weeks ago from someone who tricks them up. Was cutting out here and there a couple days after I took delivery. Turned key on/off and magically problem solved. Week later, doing it more often but again by turning on and off, problem solved. Yesterday, cart would not go forward, only reverse and the on / off trick no longer works. Any ideas on problem? Batteries are 2015. Recently I learned it has stock controller with 23" tires and stock solenoid as well. Thank you in advance for your help.

Re: ezgo cutting out to dead
Yeah we're here. You are describing a situation that could easily be controller failure. A cart with 25% bigger than stock tires really needs a controller upgrade.

thanks man. the dcx400pds controller was recommended. so should i have any concern with the stock motor being effected by these changes?

The motor is going to access more amperage with either model Alltrax, this is one factor that improves performance. another is unleashed speed control. Seriously look at the XCT control our starting price for XCT400PDS is just $444 that is $30 LESS than I see the DCX for. Oh maybe that's because there is no $30 adapter needed because everything just plugs right in Back to your question - if the motor is in good condition ( most of them are) then the new control will not adversely effect it. If the motor is worn or the driver is a real leadfoot & hard on everything or hills are real steep then yes, this can shorten the life of the motor, in which case you probably needed an after market motor to start with, Hope this helps. |

Re: ezgo cutting out to dead
As Scottyb says the DCX is old technology. Go with new technology - XCT.
