re-hookin up the lights

Good advice as usual..
I checked into a DC/DC regulator O- my there kinda expensive
A good 15amper is around $256.00 +-
So I will buy another set of lights for $36.00 and do one set on top and one set on the bottom for a total of 6.8 amp draw per set, from two sets of batteries 2 switchis
And since the back lights are not stop lights I’ll put one ether bat
I’ll have more light and draw from both sides
Think it will work that way?
