Default I think my capacitor is bad but not sure?

How can you tell if a charger capacitor is bad on a 2004 ezgo golf cart?

Thank so much for any help.

With a capacitance tester.

If you are having problems with your charger, the capacitor will usually be the last thing to go bad.

What is it doing, or not doing?
How does the cart act?
Give us some info. We'll be glad to help.

The charger is not humming at all. I took a jumper wire and put one on the hot wire coming in and the black wire going to the transformer and it started humming like normal.

Thanks for any help!

You probably have a bad relay. When you plug the charger into the cart, do you hear the relay click inside the charger?

Note: The AC cord does not need to be plugged into an outlet to hear the relay click.

All I know is when I plug in the charger it doesn't do anything. No humming, nothing, but whenever I put the jumper wire on like I said in the above post, it hummed like a charger normally does.

Is the relay on the golf cart itself? I'm just dealing with my charger at this point and nothing.

Oh and by the way thanks for the welcome. And thanks for any help you can give me.

Relay is inside the charger.

By the way, If the Charger is NOT plugged into the cart, There will be nothing happen as you said.
It will not work period untill it is plugged into the cart. No hum, nothing.

Well then I don't hear anything clicking, where is the relay located at in the charger? And can you tell me how I could go about checking it? TIA

OK thanks for the diagram, my problem is just with my charger itself.
