Default Charger won't stay on

I recently got a 99 ezgo txt with a powerwise charger but have not been able to charge it the charger comes on and the ammeter jumps up and starts humming but after about a minute or two the charger shuts off can't figure out if it's the charger or the cart causing the problem or what the problem is any help would be appreciated

What does the amp meter go up to? I guess there's no chance the cart is fully charged?

Dirty/corroded connections in the charging loop will cause that symptom.

The control board in the charger shuts it off when the on-charge voltage reaches about 45V and what the control board is seeing is the battery voltage plus the resistance in the charge loop with about 20A of current flowing through it.

Clean the connections on the five high current cables connecting the six batteries in series, the two heavy wires connecting the charge receptacle to the battery pack as wells as the radsoks (brass terminals) in the charger receptacle and charger's output plug. If the is a 50a or 60A inline fuse, clean its connections also.

Default Charger won't stay on

After being plugged in the charger comes on and the ammeter goes up to about 22 then after being on for a minute or two the charger shuts off I just put a new board and diodes in the charger and new radsoks in receptacle and cleaned connections on handle can't figure out what could be causing the problem

Have you checked the connections between the recept and the batteries, or even the connection between batteries? A friends old CC was ready for the junkman as it was not accepting charge. I cleaned up all connections and he is good to go again...

This forum may not be the quickest to answer, but you don't need to start another thread on the same subject. If your thread moves down the list with no answer, you can always make another post to that thread and it will move to the top. Something short like "Still got the problem, any help guys"

JohnnieB gave you an answer in your other thread. I don't know if I've ever seen him to be wrong. (Johnnie, don't get a big head)

Good luck

What does the battery pack voltage climb to before charger shuts off?
