Default Is this snake oil?

I would like to know if there is any truth to this?
I know if we could hold the battery plates in our hands we could clean the stuff off. But can this actually work? I have a couple sets I would be willing to try it on as they are old and will need replacing eventually.
This is just a pack of chemical ,there is 6 bottles of stuff that is for direct adding with no extra work involved.

I asked the same question when I joined back a few months ago. I knew in my head it couldn't work but I was like maybe someone had it work. Well on guy said he used it on some trashed batteries and it made them a little better for like 6 months.

Yeah the key word here is a "little" better... While I don't for a moment believe in battery snake oils or magic potions as long as you have limited expectations you just might make do with batteries that are both old and weak... A couple of my neighbors have old well used off course DS models with crap for batteries since I've tought them to keep them charged whenever parked they are getting use out of them. One never leaves their 1 acre property and the other never leaves our circle drive... Me I like to travel to the far reaches of our HOA which is roughly 6 plus miles of curves and hills....

Yea if I was more like your neighbors I would still be running my 7 year old batteries. I could easily go 6 miles and at decent speed too. But they were only charging 80% and you could feel the performance taper off a bit at like 2 miles.

Well, 1 set of battery's I had in the beat up 40 dollar cart were pullouts from 1 I put new battery's in for a friend a year ago. I have gotten use from them till last week. Energizers. They have NOT kept going and going. It was to the point i couldn't use it a 1/2 day around the house without them going flat. Turns out only 3 were giving the real trouble. So I took all 6 out and my buddy told me about how he brought back 2 12 volt battery's with Epsom salt. Um. So with nothing to loose but time and a couple jugs of .88 cent distilled water and 2 1 dollar bags of epsom salt I set out to experiment. I heated the water in a pot on a hotplate and dissolved the salt in the water. He told me his battery's had lost water down to about level with the plate topand he refilled them from that point. So i drew out water till I got them to that point. About 1/2 a bag to a pot of water . It took over 1 1/2 gallons of water to do the total of 9 battery's I was trying this on.
Now here is what did amaze me. 2 of those battery's tested 3 volts under 100 amp load. 1 was at 5 volts. The other 3 held about 5.5 under load.
They now all hold just at 6 volts under load.
I don't know what to take from this except they are going in a GE electrac E10 riding mower . I will see how long they last . If not long, not much lost but a few bucks and a couple Tylenol for the back ache from lifting.

Cleans the plates
Might get a few more rounds out of them

Can help milk a pack a week or so ,to get thru a season
But
6 months of golf use would be a big stretch

Some batts , if they were taken good care of, it don't help at all.
