Default Differential gear assembly

95 electric medalist dana axle. replaced bearings in input gear assembly (the top one) intermediate gear assembly (the middle) and the two bearings on the differential-carrier assembly held in by the saddles ( the lower end ) My question: On the lower end, the differential gear assembly has some rotating toothed gears. With this part out of the axle, should there be any play in the round toothed gears? I don't want to reassemble if I need to replace this part, also.
Thanks for your input.

Default Re: Differential gear assembly

I received no replies to this post, so, I put it back together as it was and I think I made the right decision. The only bearing I haven't replaced is the one that is on the motor shaft which when I had it out seemed fine and also the brushes were good. My question "Can the armature be worn enough to whine or is it the bearing? I can hold my hand on the motor while it is running and I can feel the vibration. Also, I detect no other noise from the axles nor the transfer case, so it is not nearly as loud as before.
