Stone cold dead EZ go
One of our members replaced the batteries in his EZ go. The cart is about 7 years and has no accessories of any kind unless you count the state of battery indicator. Naturally he wired it wrong after he put the new batteries in. Actually he wired it correctly except he had the batteries in 180 degrees out of synch. But at least he was consistent in that they were all wired backwards and the are 36.2 total volts coming out of the batteries. I reversed the wiring and nothing works. Not the cart, battery charger or indicator light.

Re: Stone cold dead EZ go
May have got the reed fuse in the charger recepticle. You can find out by taking the small wire that goes to the charger recepticle and and connecting it to 36 volts that will bypass it it a safety feature that will not let you drive your cart if the charger is plugged in.

Just bypass it unless you thing they may drive off while the charger is plugged in. I think it is a common problem I know when I got my cart someone had bypassed mine I guess they did not know what they where doing because the reed switch was not bad.

Re: Stone cold dead EZ go
Good deal. If it gets warm enough tomorrow (Florida you know, we stay indoors at less than 60 degrees) I'll take a look at the beast and bypass if necessary. I'll post the results. Thanks again.

Re: Stone cold dead EZ go
The owner messed up for sure. I finally got access to the cart and decided to check for the "deadly smell" under the controller cover before I went farther. When I popped the cover off, it smelled like a cheap radio that had been hit by lighning. No doubt the guy fried it when he hooked the wires backwards and plugged in the charger. Ho hum, just another $500. on top of the battery replacement. If he fixes it I fgure he'll have about $1100 bucks tied up in a $1500. cart.

If it is a DCS or PDS cart then you can get him a steal on a alltrax dcx 400 controller in the 4 sale section if it has not already sold.

Thanks eadavis! If the guy is rational again tomorrow, I'll let him know. He wasn't in a very good mood today.
