Default Which charger is better?

I have a 1996 Ez-go TXT and need a new charger. I have looked at the Power Wise and the DPI any thoughts on the better choice or are they basically the same?
Thanks in advance for your help

From what I understand, the DPI goes to trickle charge after the main charge is finished. I don't think the Powerwise does. That feature would make a big differnce to me. I could be wrong. If so, someone please correct me.

That's correct. I have both. I have a 36v powerwise from when I was 46v and now have a 48v DPI. And yes the DPI floats and keeps them 100% topped up all the time. And if your talking new powerwise I think the DPI is cheaper?

Comparing the two is kind of like comparing a Ford to a BMW.

My edit time ran out. That should be "when I was 36v NOT 46v"

The only "wrong" part is saying the DPI goes into trickle charge when it actually goes into float charge.

A trickle charge is low amps without voltage regulation limiting or regulation and the on-charge voltage can climb into the heavy gassing range, which can result in exposed plates if left on for an extended period.

On the other hand, a float charge is voltage regulated at an on-charge voltage that is below the heavy gassing range and the batteries can be left on float charge indefinitely.

I consider Ford to be much better than BMW. Buy American!

I guess you were saying the DPI was like Ford and the Powerwise was like the BMW.

Haha. I too like ford and have owned several. I wouldn't own a BMW, but in many people minds that is how it goes!
