Express s4 speed mods
This is my first post so bear with me. I just bought a 2016 ezgo express s4. Kids love it wifeasy lives it, and I'm thinking it's way slow compared to our last cart that was modified by the previous owner. What can I do you increase the speed. I don't want to go changing to motor or anything but I could care less if I void the warranty either . THanks

Re: Express s4 speed mods
Welcome to BGW. Not familiar with this cart as it's new but manufacture calls out 48v DC 400amp control. Seems the dealer could program a freedom mode for 19mph. Did you ask?

Re: Express s4 speed mods
No I haven't. My last cart we bought for taking camping and the previous owner had done some stuff to it. But I have no clue what. I really don't have a clue what can be done to them but I'll ask about freedom mode. Thanks for the heads up I appreciate it

Re: Express s4 speed mods
He said he won't. I just drove the rd to my buddies house who is a forklift mechanic but they also services carts. He has a handheld Curtis programmer. He hooked it up but freedom mode was greyed put. He could pick different preset modes but the fastest was 16 mpg

Re: Express s4 speed mods
This cart is 'TXT48' drive system. That's good news.
1. My dealer buddy unlocked my freedom mode for his cost ($30) the cart went 19 mph on 18" tires... now my thought on this is if your cart is factory lifted with big tires they may not allow freedom mode for safety reasons and - nothing can go over the 19.6 - so you may be locked out because that control goes to a tall tired vehicle. Make sense? 2. Good news Alltrax makes a replacement 500a XCT control which will give 22 mph on 18" wheels which would put you at 25-26mph on 22s. |
