Default Upgraded TXT 48 speed drop from 29mph now only 11mph

First, Scotty B is the man. He has been incredibly helpful, customer service beyond excellent.

I have a 2010 EZGO TXT48. Upgraded it with the following:XCT500 control, 2g cable set, D2 motor

Everything ran great. Speed up to 29mph. So I decided to upgrade some of the accessories. Added a voltage reducer and some lights and a radio. All good worked fine. Go to drive the cart and all i can get it 11mph. Checked the following:
XCT Contoller flashes green 4 times, then solid. - Good
Battery pack - 50.3V, Solenoid 50.3
Solenoid clicks when pressed, seems to be fine.
Possiblities: Inductive throttle sensor?

Possible speed sensor issue.
When the XCT loses the motor RPM data, it runs in a reduced performance mode.

Of course, it could be an ITS issue, or it could be something else.

Are you getting any error codes?

-----------
If you can, plug in a laptop and take it for a test drive.

Tell it to sample at the continuous rate and save the data log so it can be reviewed afterwards. It will show you the RPM data the controller is getting from the motor's speed sensor and the % throttle request by the ITS and about 40 or so other columns of information.

When the XCT powers up, it identifies what throttle type it is programmed for and then goes to steady green, or one of the many error codes. (See attached)

You have an EZGO cart with an ITS type throttle and are getting 4-green blinks, so the correct throttle type has been selected. Going to steady green means that no errors are being detected at the present time and the XCT is ready to go.

-----------------

Quick and dirty speed sensor test: With Run/Tow switch in Run, push the cart by hand a few feet.
If the speed sensor is communicating with the XCT, the beeper should start beeping rapidly.

--------------

Quick and dirty throttle test: Jack rear tires off ground and place on jackstands.

With controls set for driving cart forward, press pedal to floor for a few seconds while watching the LED on XCT controller.

The steady greed LED should change to steady yellow or blinking yellow indicating throttle is at 100%.

Also, if the controller detects and error condition, it will blink a green/red error code.

JohnnieB,
Thanks for the response. I performed the following:

1. Put R/T in Run. Turned the key on and put it in forward. Rolled the cart 6 yards and did not hear beeping in forward or reverse. So does that mean the speed sensor is bad?

2. Jacked up the rear. Turned the key to On and forward and pushed the throttle to the floor. The XCT flashed yellow rapidly with the pedal to the floor then returned to solid green when released. No error codes. Appears to be normal function.

3. If I have to I will buy a cheap Microsoft laptop and run the software.

Thanks for the quick feedback. Had to borrow a cart today to play 18, ironically best round of the year.

Also if you uncheck 'enable speed limit' on page 1 and the cart runs fine then the trouble is in the speed sensor or the speed sensor wires

You guys are the the best. Replaced one of the wires to the speed sensor and I'm back to warp speed. Thanks so much.

Good to hear it. Makes sense since the install was running okay at first.
