Strange RXV Problem

I have an opportunity to pick up a 2009 RXV that has some extremely weird issue. When turning the key to forward, it goes through the checks and then into gear. Pressing the pedal lightly, it moves forward. If I attempt to go any faster than around 5 mph (about a quarter throttle), it slows to a stop, then goes backwards at about 5 mph. If I put the key switch in reverse, it travels in reverse as it should no matter what position the pedal is in. The controller was pulled and sent off. It checked out good. Anyone ever hear of this situation and what could be the root cause?

super weird symptoms like this have usually been corrosion in the wire harness. problem is, both the danaher & curtis harness are on backorder from ezgo (danaher harness like yours is deep in backorder, who knows when they might be back).

Thanks a bunch. I think I may leave it where it is. The price is relatively cheap, but not being able to get the harness is probably the deal breaker. It is the danaher controller
