Re: EZGO TXT Front Shock punctured Rack and Pinion
First I would seal up the hole in the tube. Second - try to figure out how that happened.

You can tape a thin piece of aluminum over the hole to keep dust and water out.

Re: EZGO TXT Front Shock punctured Rack and Pinion
I Bought the cart about 4 mo ago, and the previous owner said he replaced all the leaf springs. The front leaf springs do look new. Sticker is relatively clean. I'm guessing that is how it happened. Thanks for the response

Re: EZGO TXT Front Shock punctured Rack and Pinion
That's a common problem and is spring related. That piece comes right off if you just want to replace it.

Re: EZGO TXT Front Shock punctured Rack and Pinion
Yes that it pretty common. Your cart has taken a hard bottoming out at some time and the shock mount on the axle has bent downward. Bend that mount upward where the shock bushings go through to get that shock mounting stud further away from the rack. Patch that hole and you are good to go some more.

Re: EZGO TXT Front Shock punctured Rack and Pinion
Thanks so much for the quick reply. For now I just wrapped in with duct tape. Is this part that I can buy separately? Is it just screwed on?
This website has been a ton of help. Thanks again |

I'd bend the tab on that bracket back up and weld a gusset on one side to keep it from happening again.

Re: EZGO TXT Front Shock punctured Rack and Pinion
Since I'm not a welder.....and never will be one, I would cut a piece of heavy rubber and attach it to the protective "pipe" via a hose clamp.
If you can't fix it with a hose clamp, it ain't worth....oh...that's Duct tape..... |
