Default RXV damage

I had my lifted RXV shipped from TX to CA. During the shipping the plastic battery tray cracked and broke and all the batteries fell out the bottom onto the trailer. In doing so it ripped all the wires off.
I have completely torn down the cart now to restore, as I already spent over a grand on new Trojan batteries, battery tray, cables, etc.

I have not started hooking everything back up yet. My worry is do you think this could have fried my controller?

possible, but probably not. dont hook any power back up until all wires are repaired, not even for testing. the rxv troubleshooting guide has a wire diagram that will help you. so did you get the metal tray for 8v's this time?
i have never seen any plastic tray failures at all, none. thats crazy.

I bought the stock plastic tray parts again from EZgo. Its a 48V so I bought 4 new Trojan 1275's. I didn't know there was a metal replacement.

All the wires are accounted for except 2. There are 2 ground wires that were running with the motor cable bundle and at the ends they were shrink wrapped together to cover the ends. I cant tell if that was suppose to be like that or if there was another wire that ripped out from them.

Next I need to trace back where they go to.

the metal tray is for 6x 8v batteries only (better setup). check the wiring diagrams. there should have been one large cable, 2 medium sized wires, and one smaller wire from charge port.

I can still exchange these batteries if the 8V set up is better. Why is the 8V better? And can you recommend which batteries to get and a link to the metal tray conversion? I didn't know the RXV had a metal tray option

http://www.buggiesgonewild.com/elect...-12v-6-8v.html

T1275 = 150ah
T875 = 170ah
13% increased range capacity, reduced voltage drop under load. longer battery life between replacements. reduced "discharge per use". the numbers seem small, but theres more to it. reducing how much you discharge the batteries per use (between recharges) increases their life in years. the higher charge you keep the batteries at, the better for their lifespan. this is why everyone here says "plug it in after every use". once your daily use is drawing the batteries down below 50% between charges, the numbers look much worse for how many cycles the batteries will last. therefore a pack with higher capacity will live longer than a smaller one.

Will all those fit under the RXV seat and still be able to keep my electronics where they are? Do I need to add or change anything else to do the conversion other than batteries?

they all fit under the seat of every new rxv we get from ezgo. you will need a 48 -> 12v dc/dc convertor for your lights. no more "tapping-in" for lights on one 12v battery (a bad scheme also used by Ezgo for a while, until battery warranty got too high). no new area used for batteries on the sides like a TXT "42 or 48 volt with extra 6v batteries" conversion. you still keep that area. minus area used by dc convertor (not much space required for new models). depends on size of your amps & stuff you keep there.

Wow. Looks like a good fit.
So here is my next question...i had just ordered the trojan hydro battery filing kit. Will I need a different kit for these or can I use it on these batteries.
