Default Ezgo Controller Recommendations

Just acquired a 2003 Ezgo TXT 36v standard series cart that appears to have a bad Curtis controller. I would like to replace it with an Altrax controller that will work in the current configuration but will handle some future motor and lift upgrades when that time comes. I really do not intend to upgrade to a 48 v cart so any ideas on a controller that will work on a 36v system and in the future maybe something in the line of a 4 hp motor. Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

any alltrax SR or SPM can be ordered for easy hookup to your cart. 400a is good for street use, 500a would be better for offroad. your stock solenoid will need upgrade no matter what (it was too small from the factory). your cables should be upgraded with the controller. upgrade F&R will also be in your future. if you choose not to upgrade your cables & F&R now, you need to tune the controller down to 300a. when the upgrade motor comes around, the cable and F&R upgrades are mandatory (for controller warranty) and reliability. no real reason to not do it all at once, why spend money for a controller upgrade and not be able to fully use it.

Need Help. I have purchased the Alltrax SR48400 controller and new heavy duty solenoid. Got everything installed but cart will not go. Battery Pack voltage is 37.8v. Solenoid clicks when throttle is pressed. I figured it was the ITS sensor so I replaced it. Still no go. I called Alltrax today and talked with them just to make sure I had everything wired correctly and did some continuity test. Everything appears right except the throttle. Probing the B- and the white throttle wire gives me 10v when the solenoid clicks. As the throttle is depressed voltage should drop but it stays constant at 10v. Like I said I replaced the ITS sensor and it is the same. Anyone have any ideas, I am listening. Thanks in advance.

Measure the voltage on the white wire at the ITS sensor in the pedal box.

If you don't get the 10V, there is a open someplace between the pedal box and the controller.

There is a 4-pin in-line connector between the gray 4-wire cable assembly coming out of the pedal box and the cart's wiring harness that causes all sort of problems when it gets wet and/or corroded.

A big Thank You JohnnieB.. I ran jumper wires from controller to ITS connections and the cart runs now. Problem is I bought new controller, solenoid, its and upgraded all cables just because of a loose connection. LOL!!! oh well. its a good start to an upgraded cart. Again, thank you JohnnieB
