New battery break in
I read the stickey. It says, run batteries down to 50percent, and recharge. 10 times. I have a meter. What am I looking for? Trojan t105's, 6volt.The chart says 6.05 is 50 percent. Am i reading this right? I want to get it right the first time! Thanks.

Re: New battery break in
question regarding break in. what if new batteries were purchased about year ago, and they have never been allowed to go below 80%? Is that bad?

Re: New battery break in
No, not a problem. Wet cell batteries have no memory problems like old nicads.
Just make sure the charger is giving a full amperage bulk charge in the initial start up... and maybe just take em down a bit more to ensure they are getting a healthy jolt of amperage input now and again just to keep things stirred up |

Re: New battery break in
Yes 100 bucks for Trojan t105's is a good price.
When a battery is left at, Around 70% charged or lower, is when it starts to hurt a battery. That's when battery plate sulfation starts |

Re: New battery break in
I think the only thing to avoid with new batteries ( or old ones as well ) is discharging them below 50% for the first few cycles.

Re: New battery break in
So, I got the new batteries installed.Drove it a little bit,Charged till it turned off. Let it sit overnight. 5 batteries were at 6.48. 1 was 6.37. Is this normal? It sat for 8 hours after charging. When I brought them home, 5 were @ 6.37, and the 1 was @ 6.05. Trojan t105 made in Sept. 2016. Am I good to go, or should I keep an eye on the "Weak" one, or take it back? I realize that 6.37 is 100percent. Thanks!
