Can someone give me a quick lesson on voltage for accessories
I'm interested in a few accessories for my 48 volt RXV and I don't know much about the electric system. I want a small light installed on my dash and for it to come on only when I turn my headlights on. First question is can I buy any light like a very short "neon" rope from an auto parts store or since this is 48v do I need to find something more specific? Second question, once I find a light can I tap into the headlight switch rather than running new wires from the battery? I'm talking about a very low draining light, just something so I can see what's in my dash.
Thanks |

Re: Can someone give me a quick lesson on voltage for accessories
If any of what your getting is an 'automotive' accessory I would suggest a DC-DC converter if the vehicle doesn't have one. I think some members here sell those.
I would assume pre-installed headlights would be at 12V already, I would check the current limit of what is already there and make sure whatever you install does not exceed it, but if its within rage for what your trying to do Id say splice it in parallel with the headlights |
