how do i make my rxv faster , i bought a handheld programmer . but when i get in to the computer it tells me that the freedom mode is enable .... how do i get around that with out a key ?????

Do you mean that you have Freedom Mode selected? Unless Freedom Mode is unlocked, you can select it all you want and it will not use those settings. Use mode 4 instead and set to the max speed of 14.8 MPH if that is what you want.

Otherwise, you can pay a dealer to unlock your Freedom Mode. There are other ways... But as an OEM, E-Z-GO has a right to earn profits from the sales of their products and accessories.

Go into Parameters, select Profiles, then select Mode 5 and edit the Mode 5 speed setting. You can select up to 19.5 MPH. Go back to Parameters, Profile Selection, and set the Profile to Mode 5, Freedom Mode

Hi Bob or anybody else who can answer: I am customizing several EZGO RXV carts (might get into some Club Car later).

I just purchased a handheld programmer for Curtis controllers online. Can I change the speed setting just by using this handheld or do I need to get a passkey for a 2016 RXV?

If a passkey is needed, what’s the best way to go about purchasing several?

A passkey will get you 17.5mph, the handheld will let you up it to 19.5mph.

1 Passkeys comes with 20 activations and runs between $500-$800.

Be aware that using a passkey to turn on Freedom mode cuts your already reduced by 28% output torque down an additional 12%. That results in a reduction of 40% of maximum! They do this to limit top speed if larger tires are used.

I am just trying to speed up my golf cart. I have a 2011 48V TXT. I dont feel like spending the $600-$700 to buy the 20 time use passkey and was seeing what other options available.
