Default 36v to 48v charger question

I'm about to convert my 36v txt to 48v. I know I'll need a new 48v charger, but a service tech at the local ezgo dealer/service center said I'll have to get a 48v charger that has some type of a control board in the charger since the cart didn't come equipped with one. Could someone direct me as to which charger I'll be needing ? I'll be making the jump from 36v to 48v as soon as I can find a charger. And I'm going with 6 brand new 8 volt Trojan 875's if that makes any difference. If anybody or any sponsers can help out, pm me with a price on a correct charger shipped to 27577 in North Carolina. Thanks in advance, Chris

There are several stand alone 48v chargers out there.....I like a Lester 25amp. Club Car made chargers without a brain. They use a cart mounted on-board computer (OBC). Stay away from them and typically I stay away from the battery maintainer type of cart mounted chargers...Yamaha makes a 17 amp charger which is adequite...

I bought this charger from LVS Sales for my "Ike" rebuild... I eliminated the OBC in my flooded Club Car DS during the rebuild.. I've been very pleased with it so far, and the price was right.. I know some members here have had issues with LVS, but I've ordered a few things from them without any issues.. The charger was delivered to my door in less than a week..

Thanks for the info on that charger John, I have one on the way to the house right now ! 36/48 volt charger with a 5 year warranty for $239.50 and $23 shipped is a killer deal if you ask me.

i have an ezgo, so if i were to order that charger i would select the one for an ezgo after 1995. therefore, im going to assume that there is s switch on the charger that lets you go from 36v to 48v?

There is a recessed switch on the front panel of the charger to toggle between 36 or 48 volt output.. Just use the tip of a small screwdriver to slide the switch to the voltage desired..
