Default DCS or PDS

I am also on another golf cart forum. I asked them the very same question and I got conflicting INFO. I have an EZGO, F/R switch on the seat, Tow/run switch on the cover, model number is A100. It slows down on hills on its own and has the steering on the frame not the axle.

PDS or DCS or you need more info?

Thanks guys,
-Jennings

Steering did not change until 1/2 way thru the 2001 model year, so your's is bolted to the frame.

Now for the PDS / DCS question. As per your description, your cart is a DCS. HOWEVER - In RARE instances, I have seen VERY EARLY PDS carts with the F/R under the seat. Now, I will say that I have only seen 2 of these in my entire carreer in the golf business. The only true way to see, is to look at your controller. If there is a 'slot' for a 'chip', then it is a PDS. Also count your connectors that plug into the controller. A PDS cart will have 3 large buss connectors and 2 small connectors sticking out from it. A DCS controller will have the same, PLUS a 9 pin connector for the control harness.

You didn't get conflicting info, you simply didn't wait for the Q/A process to develop. No matter, as long as you get your answers.

Hey hey hey - You mad that I got the 1st post? I went back and edited that line. Thanks for the notice...

I remember when I saw my first PDS with under seat F/R - Blew my whole thought process!

Recently, I had a 1998 MEDALIST in the shop. I had always heard that the Medalist carts were 1994 - 1996. Even varified it at the Factory.

You never know

I told him elsewhere that he had a DCS cart, but someone has confused him. At this point the only way to tell is to examine the controller.

BTW, my info says Medalist carts were produced from 1994.5 through 1999.

Thanks - the 1998 threw me, you just don't see many of the later models...

But the first PDS with the under seat F/R really had me confused

You're 100% on the controller verification - it IS the only true way for I.D. Our problem at the dealership is that we mainly work on newer models. The Dallas market has very older few vehicles (at least, in my area)...

Thanks for the welcome Rusty, glad to be here!

If you go to c a r t a h o l i c s dot com and go to ezgo electric forum, you can see why I could be confused. Gornoman told me DCS, the ADMIN told me PDS? I am just trying to figure it out. No disrespect Gornoman, I just didn't know who was correct.

Answers can only be as good as the information given. As in Gorno's post and mine - It would SEEM that you have a DCS.

HOWEVER - to be SURE, controller I.D. is a MUST. Take the cover off and tell us what you see.

I don't know how to read your point of the above post?

I will pull the cover tonight when I get home from work.

Gornoman, switch to tow and unhook the battery cables to the controller before pulling the cover.

I hope it is a PDS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
