EZ Go - doesn't want to
Series cart about a 2004?
Drove to golf course, by hole two - cart jerks a couple times and just stops - towed it home - topped off batteries with DI water - was able to get it to move forward while on the charger. Figured it was a battery issue and charged it up fully - made full round on the course and died in the parking lot after 9 holes. Checked batteries - all read 6.3 except one battery that read 6.0 - pack read 36.9 I believe - can hear the solenoid clicking but wont go forward or reverse. was wondering where to start on the troubleshooting - hoping for an easy fix - any help would be great! |

Re: EZ Go - doesn't want to
you are 61% SOC-after charging-you got a bad battery and probably a shot pack-just my guess....

Re: EZ Go - doesn't want to
even to the point that the cart wont move at all? I was going to jack it up and see what I have for voltage drop on each battery - I'm hoping to limp it along until next season (Minnesota)

Re: EZ Go - doesn't want to
Keep the voltmeter on the pack and try to go, what does the pack voltage drop to when you try to go but the cart can't move?
Additionally you can do this same test for each battery by placing the test leads on the + and - of the same battery and trying to go... essentially you are performing a load test and this shows the true health of a battery |

Re: EZ Go - doesn't want to
is it as simple as one bad battery? I can pick up a used battery locally and replace the lowest voltage one I can find with my meter -
I've read several of the posts on here about batteries - I'm probably due for a full replace here shortly, but if I can limp it along for another month, I dont have to buy them until May... :) |

Re: EZ Go - doesn't want to
Battery problem for sure. At least one bad one. Check the voltage under load and you will find that it is dropping way down.

got a used one on hold - I'll load test and report back - hoping it's that easy of a fix!

Re: EZ Go - doesn't want to
Generally:
No battery should be less than 6.3 after full charge and 12 hours of rest to settle down to what it can actually hold. No battery should be below 5v under load, hard acceleration up hill. |
