Rear springs on a 2005 EZ GO PDS

I just bought a 2005 EZ GO PDS cart. The rear is sagging some. I made 1 1/4" longer rear shackles. That seems to be the longest I would like to go. Any longer just looks silly. It still sags a little bit in the rear. Not as bad as before. I am hesitant to buy new rear springs. I do not want the HD springs if possible because I want a comfortable ride. Would installing new OEM standard 2 leaf springs lift it up again? Seems odd that 3 year old springs can sag so much. I have looked at extending the front mounts some. I would like it to ride even or slightly higher in the rear. But I do not want to lift it in any way. I want a stock ride height but not sagging in the rear. Any advice?

2005 carts are now 4 years old. Yes, it is very common for springs to sag after 4 years, especially if the cart came from a high useage golf course.

EZGO has gone to a 3 leaf spring this past year as the standard. Extend and build all you want, if your spring is sprung, they need to be replaced...

Thanks for the reply. I will buy new springs if need be. Any add on helper springs available? Maybe not worth it?

Do you have a rear seat on the cart ? If you do, you should go with a HD (4) rear springs. Might not be a bad idea anyway !

In my mind all of the carts 2005 and up have a little sag in the rear. If I were you I would think about adding a leaf. I can sell you and extra leaf if you want... or just pay the shipping and I will send them to you.

I like the look of these. They have the plastic rubbing pieces on the ends of each spring so they should not squeak. 3 leafs. They cost a little more but the plastic pieces add to the price. Maybe these with my longer shackles will give me what I want. Even or slightly higher in the rear.

Not to be that guy, but I have never heard squeaking in the leaf springs! We have ours on sale for $65 dollars on our site www.radicalgolfcarts.com.

I don't think plastic will last very long when it is a "buffer" for steel parts. I can't recall ever hearing a cart with squeaky springs and I've rode in a bunch of them on golf course's, I use to play 4 or 5 times a week.

I buy a lot of stuff on Ebay, but my advice is to always check a sellers feedback before buying and to consider how hard it is to get in touch with them if there is a problem. A good thing about buying from a site sponsor is that they are always lurking around here.
