Question Top Support Bolts

Anyone know off hand what size/thread the bolts are that hold the front top supports to the body/frame?

One of mine is missing, and I would like to replace all 4 with new.

Not sure what size it is but. Get up under the front cowl and spray them bolts before you remove them. They snap off alot of times when you try to remove them. take one with you, and then you will have the right one

Funny you say that, as one of them has already done that to me.

Best idea to remove the broken one? Drill it out? Vice grips from the inside of the cowl?

Depends on where the bolt broke. They are not threaded all the way to the head of the bolt. If it is just the threads left it there. You may be able to get it out from the in side, but i don't think so. And they are a bitch to drill out. I would spray them with some PB and let it sit for a few days before you try to remove them

Pretty sure they are 5/16 thread but not sure of the length. And yes they are a bear if they shear off. The hole is exposed under the frame and you do not need to remove the cowl to get to it. IF you are lucky they might be some exposed you could spin out from the back. If not plan on some fun with a drill..

I've drilled a few out. Get a good bit, and take your time, drill it slow, and keep the bit cool with some type of lubricant. Then just put a longer bolt with a nut on the back in its place.
